Baby Bok Choy Red F1
Baby Bok Choy Red F1 is an eye catching variety, featuring leaves that have purple-red upper sides, green undersides and bright green stems.
It is an ideal variety for for adding interest to baby leaf mixes, but also produces compact whole heads that are great in stir fries. The red leaf colouration is enhanced during cooler periods.
After about 30 days the baby leaves will be ready for picking for salads. In about 45 days the plants will be mature enough to harvest completely and used for stir fries and other dishes.
Sow – September to April (cool climate). Raise indoors in Spring and plant out after risk of frost has passed or protect with fleece (seedlings hit by frost will likely flower prematurely) COOL CLIMATE
Spacing – 15cm, 20cm rows.
Evolved in China, where it has been cultivated since the 5th century AD. Contains glucosinolates. These compounds have been reported to prevent cancer.
