Basil Thai

Basil Thai has a medium, pointed green leaf, a reddish stem and a purple flower spike with pink flowers. It’s flavour is that of anise or liquorice and this very aromatic basil is used primarily in Southeast Asian dishes. It is said to be able to withstand high cooking temperatures without losing its spicy flavour.

Performs at its best in a hothouse or warm spot in Tasmania.

When to Sow:

Cool Climate: OCT – JAN (Heat Mat preferable)

Temperate: SEPT – FEB

Sub – Tropical: AUG – MAR

Tropical: ALL YEAR (bonus)

Arid: SEPT – MAR

  • Cut back to twin leaf as two new leaves will regrow for bushy plant

Spacing: 30cm, great in pots.
