Brussels Sprouts Dagan F1
Brussels Sprouts Dagan F1 is a mid-season brussels sprout that produces smooth, attractive medium-large sprouts. Regarded as one of the most dependable varieties in the US. A lovely bright green and well wrapped sprout. Keep the water up over the warm months. I recommend you sow in December for highest yields (allows for taller plant which means more stem and more sprouts in late autumn/winter).
Do not start too early (Nov) as from my 2022 trials, the sprouts will begin forming when the weather is still too warm in April.
Sow: Late December to February (cool climate).
Spacing: plants 45 to 60cm, rows 70cm.
Although native to the Mediterranean region with other cabbage species, brussels sprouts first appeared in northern Europe during the 5th century, later being cultivated in the 13th century near Brussels, Belgium, from which they derived their name.
Germination: Optimal Soil temperature is 19 to 24 C (around 5-10 days to germination)
