Cabbage Red Acre
Cabbage Red Acre produce small red heads of approx. 1 to 1.5kg. They are quite quick growing. Keep the moisture up to them. Some cow manure and or compost prior to planting is beneficial.
Sow – November to early March. (cool climate – earlier in Hobart)
Spacing – 30cm. rows 40cm
Cabbage was most likely domesticated somewhere in Europe before 1000 BC, although savoys were not developed until the 16th century AD. By the Middle Ages, cabbage had become a prominent part of European cuisine.
Germination: Optimal Soil temperature is 19 to 24 C (around 5-10 days to germination)
