Cabbage Red Ball F1
Cabbage Red Ball F1 is suited to cooler climates producing 500g to 1kg small tight red heads of excellent quality. Very sweet tasting and adds contrast to any dish. I have bee delighted by the performance of this variety.
Around 3 to 4 months to maturity but holds well in the field during June and July which means you are not in a rush to harvest.
Sow – December to February.
Spacing – 45cm. rows 60cm
Cabbage was most likely domesticated somewhere in Europe before 1000 BC, although savoys were not developed until the 16th century AD. By the Middle Ages, cabbage had become a prominent part of European cuisine.
Germination: Optimal Soil temperature is 19 to 24 C (around 5-10 days to germination)
