Cabbage Savoy King F1
Cabbage Savoy King F1 is a very reliable performer over Autumn and winter in Tassie. Produces tight and sweet savoyed cabbages over the 1 kg mark. It easily survives the Tasmanian winter. Savoys are regarded as the most tender and sweet of all the cabbages. Best sown from late November to February. Great for making kimchi or sauerkraut also.
Sow – mid-November to February.
Spacing – 45cm. rows 60cm
Cabbage was most likely domesticated somewhere in Europe before 1000 BC, although savoys were not developed until the 16th century AD. By the Middle Ages, cabbage had become a prominent part of European cuisine.
Germination: Optimal Soil temperature is 19 to 24 C (around 5-10 days to germination)
