Cabbage Savoy Vertus

Cabbage Savoy Vertus has rounded heads of dark green ruffled leaves that have a subtle flavour compared to other savoy cabbages. It’s a very hardy variety and stands well without splitting.

Can grow up to 2.5kg but I prefer to harvest at the 1 to 1.5kg mark.

Sow late November to early March. (cool climate)

Spacing 45cm. rows 100cm

Cabbage was most likely domesticated somewhere in Europe before 1000 BC, although savoys were not developed until the 16th century AD. By the Middle Ages, cabbage had become a prominent part of European cuisine.

Germination: Optimal Soil temperature is 19 to 24 C (around 5-10 days to germination)
