Gunsynd F1 pumpkin
I was impressed by this large grey ribbed pumpkin during the recent summer. Produced 6 to 7 kg pumpkins with a lovely orange flesh. Tolerates harsh conditions really well. All pumpkins like a rich soil and consistent watering regime as well as eatra soil warmth over late Nov and Dec.
Sow – Germinates when soil temp >20C. Sow direct when a week of sunny weather is forecast from Nov on. To help lay black plastic down, cut an X and plant into that.
Spacing – 1 metre (provide lots of water)
Native to North America (northeastern Mexico and the southern United States), pumpkins are one of the oldest domesticated plants, having been used as early as 7,500 to 5,000 BC.
