Okra Red Burgundy
Okra Red Burgundy is an annual growing to 1m. An attractive ornamental plant with red stems and green leaves producing attractive red pods which are ideally harvested when around 7-10cm long.
This variety holds its colour after cooking. Quick growing variety when weather warms up. Can reach 160 to 180cm tall but is grown as an annual in cool climates as frost tender.
Pods can be used fresh or dried, most commonly used in soups and stews.
Sow: October to December, plant out when weather is warmer in Cool Climates (20 deg or more)
