Pak Choy White Stem

Pak Choy White Stem has attractive dark green leaves and white stems. Upright growing habit and round thick leaves. A slow bolting pak choy, excellent for growing outside. Suitable for baby leaf production as a cut and come again crop.

Best grown in autumn and winter in Tasmanian but a crop can be achieved in Spring if some protection is offered from frosty nights in August/ early September. A run of cold nights when young can force them to flower.

Sow – August to September and mid-February to April (cool climate). Best sown indoors and planted out in early Spring (provide some cover on cold frosty nights)

Spacing – 25cm, 30cm rows.

Evolved in China, where it has been cultivated since the 5th century AD.  Contains glucosinolates. These compounds have been reported to prevent cancer.

  • approx 420 seed per gram.
