Poppy Shirley Double mix

Poppy Shirley Double mix is a hardy annual native to Europe. Seeds can be started directly outdoors in spring or autumn. They feature foliage that remains inconspicuous allowing the flower to express its full beauty, which are individually borne on erect hairy stems. The 7-10 cm, double poppy flowersrange in shades from white and pink, to red.

Shirley Poppy is an old time cottage and cutting garden favourite. Performs best if seeds are sown in late autumn in warmer regions or in early spring in the cooler climate. A very delicate looking and long-lasting cut flower if the cut end is singed with a match flame as soon as it is cut.

Sow: autumn to early Spring (cool climate), Sow onto prepared bed and firm down.

Spacing: 30cm
