Rockmelon Mountain Sweet
Rockmelon Mountain Sweet is an early ripening melon that has been developed for cooler climates. Lovely sweet flavoured oblong fruit with orange flesh. My main rockmelon grown in my hothouse and produces 2 to 4 fruits per vine. Can be grown outside, but benefits from protection in December from cold weather (use black plastic on the soil to keep temperature up).
Fruit is ripe when you see a yellow to the skin and is really ripe when you smell it. The smell tells you to hurry up and eat.
When to Sow: Cool and temperate climates on a heat mat in a hothouse or indoors. Germination is higher with bottom heat of 25 degrees C.

Sub – Tropical: JUL – JAN
Tropical: ALL YEAR
Arid: AUG – JAN
Spacing: 1.2m however they do well in grow bags (1 seedling to a bag).
Germination: Optimal Soil temperature is 26 to 30 C (around 5-10 days to germination)
