Squash Delica F1
Squash Delica F1 a high quality Kabocha (buttercup) type squash that has dry flesh which sweetens during storage. Vigorous vines produce good yields of blocky-shaped fruit that are dark green in colour, with thin light green stripes and flecks. The golden flesh has a rich, nutty flavour. The fruit can weigh up to 1.5 to 2.2 kgs. and store for months in peak condition.
Sow: Germinates when soil temp >20C. Sow direct when a week of sunny weather is forecast from Nov on. To help maintain warmer soil temperatures in cool climates, lay black plastic down, cut an X and plant into that.
Spacing: 1 metre (provide lots of water)
Native to North America (northeastern Mexico and the southern United States), pumpkins are one of the oldest domesticated plants, having been used as early as 7,500 to 5,000 BC.
