Watermelon Bush Jubilee
Watermelon ‘Bush Jubilee’ is an exceptional heirloom variety designed specifically for gardeners with limited space who still want summer fruit. Unlike sprawling traditional vines that take over entire yards, this compact powerhouse produces tidy, 1-to-2-metre bush-style vines without sacrificing the sugary, crisp flavour of classic melons. 4 to 6 kg in weight.
Plant in rich, well-draining soil mixed with plenty of compost or aged manure.
Harvest Sign: Your watermelon is ripe when the closest vine tendril turns brown and dry, and the underside spot touching the ground turns a warm, creamy yellow.
When to Sow: Cool and temperate climates on a heat mat in a hothouse or indoors. Germination is higher with bottom heat of 25 degrees C.
